The chronologically written RPG module is obsolete. Experienced players invariably deviate from what the author had planned, and us Dungeon Masters (DM) can only hope to salvage some material by flipping through dozens of pages, searching for the relevant section.
This is a full campaign formatted for DMs by DMs. As players move from location to location in the The Valmerian Chronicles, all you need to do is flip to that section, then choose from three types of encounters:
- Storyline: These advance the campaign calendar and plot.
- Subplot: These are written generically so that you can mold it to any character’s background.
- Narrative: When life happens and there is a light table, these are one-shot adventures that will not affect the main plot.
But that's not all. For your convenience, every notable location and NPC referenced in the text has been collated in the indices, alphabetically listed and cross referenced with which city they're found. Amaze your party with your perfect recollection. We won't tell.
When we last left our adventurers
The young Kingdom of Valmeria once bordered a great Mageocracy known as the Malakat Domain, until one fateful night some 50 years ago, it was utterly destroyed in a mysterious cataclysm. In the intervening years, the few survivors from that cataclysm have championed Queen Genevieve Desjani to help reclaim their ancestral lands.
However, the elves of the Doronwood and the dwarven nation of Cragcroft do not wish to give this upstart Kingdom an opportunity to claim the Malkatian legacy, as it would disturb the delicate balance of power in the region. Will your players engage in political intrigue or investigate the ruins of a long lost civilization in the hopes of solving the greatest mystery of a generation? No matter. You are already prepped.

This campaign was playtested for a period of three years with one group, meeting approximately once per week for a three hour session. This book includes:
- A history of Valmeira and the reasonable motivations of the Big Bad Evil.
- 52 detailed encounters that have elements relating to the main plot. Amaze your players with how immersive and well thought out your campaign is.
- 40 maps/drawings that were designed to fit a square grid in mind.
- Unique magic items
- Advice for new DMs running a sandbox campaign, plus lessons learned during playtesting.
